By introducing
advanced technology in every aspect Telangana Civil Supplies Department
achieved tremendous results which got applaud from various section country
wide, now has taken a revolutionary decision by implementing Ration from
anywhere (Portability) which will benefit 2.75 crore beneficiaries state wide.
From now onwards
the card holder can avail there essential commodities at any ration shop state
side which will be in effect from tomorrow (1st of April, 2018)
under portability scheme.
Commissioner for
Civil Supplies Sri C.V. Anand said, the portability scheme is already
implemented district wise which yielded good response from all sections of
people especially cardholders, will now be implemented state wide, where
beneficiaries can avail there ration from anywhere in the state. The
Portability created competition between ration dealers and beneficiaries are
getting good services. Cardholder need not go particularly to his allotted
ration shop but can get his ration from anywhere in the state.
Previously…
Cardholders
used get their commodities only in the ration shop allotted to them. Families
migrating or shifting from one place another where unable to to get ration from
the nearest ration shop, but had to get ration commodities from the allotted
shop even if it is far away. The beneficiaries had to wait for the ration shops
to open and for the stock availability.
Presently…
There
is no limitation to get the commodities in a particular ration shop. The
beneficiaries can get their essential commodities near to their house or any
place irrespective of ration shop where their card is allotted. Even if card
holders shifts or moves to other areas, they need not go for change of shop as card holder can get
ration from any ration within the state.
Family members included in the ration card can get ration individually
from anywhere in the state. For example, out of five members of a family one
can get quota of rice or kerosene or wheat from Mahaboobnagar district, two
members can get rice from Medak or kerosene from Adilabad.
SMS message will be sent to the registered mobile number about the quota
as soon as the ration is taken.
Commissioner said that, ration cards will not be terminated even if card
holders do not take their ration

C.V. Anand said by downloading T-Ration App one can get the location nearer to
them by one click. Every card holder should get the benefits of this App.
Last
year from June 1st onwards Portability was implemented in 1545
ration shops of Greater Hyderabad circle which got tremendous response from the
card holders as they were able to get commodities from the shops close to them.
In ten months duration about 29 lakh transactions were made by portability.
Portability
developed healthy competition among the dealers. Good behaviour from dealer and
complaints from the card holders on the behaviour of the dealer got reduced.
Now it is decided to extend the portability within the state with effect from 1st
April 2018. The card holder can draw their ration from any Ration shop in the
Telangana state.
There
are 85 lakh ration cards in the state and they get their ration from 17000
ration shops in the state. They are all linked to Aadhar based biometric system
which helps the card holder to get his ration from anywhere in the state. For
this in advance 10 to 15 percent extra stock is supplied to every ration shop.
